Alicia Sandoval-Alexander

FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC

My Story

Alicia is a double board-certified Nurse Practitioner who takes an integrative and functional approach to psychiatric and wellness care. Rather than focusing on symptom management alone, she works to identify and address the root causes of mental and physical health concerns, including hormones, lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, and other biochemical and environmental factors that influence how a person feels and functions.

Her clinical training reflects this whole-person philosophy. Alicia earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, where she worked in a variety of clinical settings caring for both adult and pediatric populations.

She later became board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and went on to complete the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at The University of Texas at Tyler, earning a second board certification.

To further deepen her work in integrative care, Alicia completed advanced training in Integrative Psychiatry through Psychiatry Redefined, a program founded by Dr. James Greenblatt that trains clinicians in functional and personalised approaches to mental health.

She has also completed dedicated training in hormone replacement therapy, allowing her to address hormonal contributors to mood, energy, sleep, and overall vitality as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Together, these areas of training help guide how she evaluates and treats each client, taking into consideration individual genetics, lifestyle, nutritional status, and underlying medical contributors alongside conventional psychiatric care.

In addition to evaluating, diagnosing, and treating psychiatric conditions across the lifespan, Alicia is equally passionate about helping clients maintain long-term wellbeing and reduce the risk of age-related health concerns. Her wellness offerings, including hormone replacement therapy and medical weight loss, are designed to support the same goal of helping the mind and body function in sync.

Whether you are seeking care for yourself, your child, or your adolescent, Alicia’s role as your provider is to partner with you in improving both your mental and physical health so you can function at your absolute best.
